Like I say in the Smart Rapper Manifesto... you are only 1 hit song away... In this video I am going to explain to you how and when that moment of making an AMAZING song happens. A huge power of having a hit song is that after you promote it enough... it will start spreading itself. And if you keep promoting it as well as the momentum it will already have from being amazing... you will gain an entire fan base from that song. Now if you don't have any HIT songs or make super catchy choruses you have to have a fan base that is super strong for you to consistently build buzz when you release a project. Like logic says... "The fans are the new hit song" But really... the fans AND a hit song is the best bet so you can spread even further When you make music, aren't there times when you make something absolutely incredible... and other times when you just make BLAH.. uninspired and uninspiring stuff? Well that is because when we create music we are creating it out of a vibe... That vibe comes from... 1) How we feel at that moment 2) How inspired we are at that moment 3) The beat that is playing at that moment that is creating that vibe along with how we feel Being in that exact moment and vibe to create something amazing comes at completely random times. You can be trying to make songs to 10 different beats and nothing comes out of it but suddenly you turn on that 11th beat and BOOM, you are vibing, bobbing your head, you are inspired by the mood you're in and the vibe of the beat. Suddenly magic happens. All you need is for THIS moment to happen. I made this video to inspire you to ALWAYS be creating. Because what I am saying is... that moment CANNOT happen... if you are not always going thru beats, finding ways to be inspired and being creative to create something amazing. Go out there an create something amazing. I have a songwriting course you can check out if you want to check it out the links are below. I show you my process of creating 10 or more songs a day in a 4 hours course where I bring you into the studio.

In today's video we talk about 4 things music industry artist DO NOT want you to know. In this video I am going to explain to you how as well as why some smaller but upcoming rappers always seem to have a lot of money, have jewelry and be driving nice cars. ORIGINAL ARTICLE: https://www.smartrapper.com/secrets-r... I know a lot of these bigger rappers, upcoming rappers and stuff... but I'm not saying any names, this video isn't to diss or degrade anyone, this video is to explain how things work from what I have learned since I have moved to Los Angeles and seen the real side of the music industry. 1) Financial Investors: Most rappers have heavy investors into their career. They just never mention these investors and you never hear about them because this is all the stuff that happens in the background. The rapper also wants to appear self made and say they made the money and they invested into themselves. I see rappers doing it and I am around them and know they have investors. For someone like me who spent years building businesses to fund my own music career I find this really disrespectful to people who truly hustled themselves but I won't get into that. Again, rappers you know and love, top big artists... had people invest in someway into their careers to help them get off the ground. It's pretty much the same as getting a label deal EXCEPT they aren't taking a 360 deal and aren't as constrained or owned. The financial investor is usually just super rich and feels "COOL" investing into a rapper that will blow up so he can say he was part of that. He is a winner, his team won and he is even more cool because he is involved in the music industries bigger artists. They Hop from investor to investor collecting more cash and owing more and more people on their way up. But they use each influx of cash to push themselves a little bit further up the food chain. I've been at the club and suddenly the rapper next to me picks up a phone call. 10 seconds later he is like, oh I gotta go, I gotta meet with an investor. It's 1AM in the morning lol What happened is his manager found someone with some cash flow and he told him "Get your ash over here I want you to meet this potential investor and charm his pants off so he invests in you" On Smart Rapper you always know I tell you, most rappers who are big.... have about 15 to 20 people with their hands in the pot on a rapper. When you don't do it yourself, you OWE a lot of people. But at the same time, you gotta do what you gotta do to make it. It all depends on your goals and if you feel you have the hustle to it without someone else's money. Generally.... you can't. And it's tough to find someone who believes in your talent as much as you do to where they would invest a heavy enough sum into your music career that it would even help you. 2) They Are Really Good Friends With RICH People Me knowing this one is one of the MAIN REASONS I made sure that when I showed everyone I had bought a new R8... that you saw the $83,000 down payment check from MY BANK ACCOUNT on my Instagram, I made sure that you saw the picture of me having just bought it from Calabasis luxury motors... I didn't want any confusion about whether or not IT WAS MINE. Because in Los Angeles a lot of people know what I am about to tell you okay... but you don't learn it unless you are on the inside. I know a bunch of people that live in LA that are actually REALLY broke or only live off of like $2,000 a month. They drive around in $150,000 cars, BMW i8 Roadsters, Masaratis and even Lamborghinis. You are probably wondering how this is possible and I know I sure as was too when I moved to Los Angeles. Then I realized what was going on.
Best time to drop a song and best time to drop a single is definitely NOT in December and here is why Smart Rapper! Have you ever heard the saying "Never in December?" Probably not because I just made it up right now but I hope it sticks because in this video we are going to talk about why you SHOULD NOT release music or a project in December. Now some people will tell you November and December are good months to release albums and yea sure... that USED to be the case. But as you will see from number 3, I have a trick you can use to get that Christmas money from people 1. It instantly ages your song a year this is why I'm releasing spray in January 2. Media dead zone from holidays 3. Start preorders for a project or single Christmas eve because ppl get iTunes gift cards and money to be able to buy your project They have expendable income for the first time the year

You have heard the term before... Fake it till you make it. I really agree with it but I really don't agree with it.. there is a lot to explain but in this video I want to talk to you about the power of faking it till you make it and how MOST RAPPERS do just that. What Ive learned in LA (that I find totally fake by the way) is people all faking it till they make it. That's why you hear about people in Los Angeles being stuck up and snooty, a lot of them, even if they have absolutely no accomplishments, all act like they are somebody because they want to appear like a somebody... even if they really aren't. You know I always tell you Smart Rappers, you need to look, sound and appear as professional as possible for people to take you seriously. And this is why faking it till you make it makes sense and I agree with it to an extent. Let me give you an example! Which one of these rappers are you going to take more seriously? (See Video Above For Pictures) If that guy on the left was at a party with you and told you he was a rapper, how seriously would you take him? He at least needs to dress like a rapper. You have to play your part. Also just to cover the bases, you might say "Rob, some artists like Eminem, Joyner Lucas, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Lupe Fiasco don't over dress and all that, they just dress down and look humble." And you are correct, but they do that because that is their brand. Their image is to be a guy who is super talented and doesn't have to flaunt and use style to amuse their audience. The super flashy look isn't their brand. But also notice they all have a signature look and branding style. From their hair to their way of dressing. For the Slim Shady heavy portion of Eminem's Career it was just a white T shirt, baggy pants and the blonde hair. Sometimes a dew rag. He fit perfectly with what a "White Rapper" would look like. This wasn't his original look, it was what the label amplified in his image to gain attention, build controversy and get him talked about more. So when I say fake it till you make it, I don't mean be FAKE. I mean dress and act how you want people to perceive you. This video isn't here to make you want to be FAKE or pretend like you are something you are not. This video is to inspire you to start playing the part of who you want to become. If you are a rapper, learn fashion, learn the culture, look like a rapper so people KNOW you are a rapper. Find your style and dress like a rapper so you FEEL like a rapper. Remember, whatever you direct your thoughts towards is what you end becoming. Feel, Look, Think, Work Towards And Become what you want to become one day. Like your parents and all of your elementary school teachers told you, you can be anything you want to be. You just have to work for it.
